Azerbaijan Uzbek Investment Company (AUIC) with the initial committed state-funded capital of USD 500 million, was founded in accordance with the mutual decision of the Presidents of both countries.

The main objective of AUIC is to invest into private businesses contributing to the development of the economies of Uzbekistan or Azerbaijan or both in exchange for a non-controlling equity share. AUIC is sector agnostic, except for industries such as alcohol, tobacco, gambling and alike. AUIC targets greenfield and brownfield projects with a minimum IRR of 12-15% investing from USD 1 million to USD 25 million into a single project with the investment horizon of 5-7 years.
