As part of our international expansion, we are establishing FairSquare Law Uzbekistan in Tashkent and are seeking an experienced Corporate/M&A Lawyer with strong leadership and business development skills ith the unique opportunity to build and lead our Uzbekistan practice.
Your Responsibilities:
Legal & Transactional
- Lead complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions.
- Manage legal due diligence and transaction execution.
- Draft and negotiate SPA, APA, Joint Venture, Shareholders' and Investment Agreements.
- Advise on corporate restructurings, foreign direct investments (FDI), corporate governance, commercial law, AML/KYC and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate cross-border legal teams across Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Uzbekistan.
- Advise European investors entering Uzbekistan and Uzbek companies expanding into Europe.
Business Development & Leadership
- Develop FairSquare Law's presence in Uzbekistan.
- Build trusted relationships with investors, corporate clients, financial institutions and public authorities.
- Generate new business opportunities and develop long-term client relationships.
- Represent the firm at business and investment events.
- Support European clients in privatization and investment projects in Uzbekistan.
- Recruit, mentor and lead the local legal team.
- Contribute to the strategic growth of FairSquare Law's international practice.
Your Profile
You are an entrepreneurial lawyer who combines excellent legal skills with commercial awareness.
You should have:
- Law degree and admission to practise in Uzbekistan.
- 7+ years' experience in Corporate/M&A or International Business Law.
- Experience with an international law firm or leading corporate legal department.
- Strong track record in cross-border transactions.
- Excellent English drafting and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated business development and client relationship experience.
- Strong commercial judgement and leadership potential.
- Existing professional network in Uzbekistan is an advantage.
- Fluency in English and Uzbek; Russian and German are beneficial.
